Making brushes in Photoshop is more different (and less convenient) than making them in another program such as PaintshopPro. This method that is going to be taught to you is the only method that does the job as far as I know. It's very useful to know how to do, as if you want some visitors to your site, quite a lot will want brushes.

1. Firstly, open up your image of whatever you want your brush to be. I chose my picture:

2. Now if you want a set of brushes for your visitors, follow this step. Click on your brush tool on your palette and then click on the little arrow on the tool bar, where you choose your brushes. Scroll down to 'Preset Manager' and press Ctrl+A, 'Save Set' and call them 'All'. These are all your brushes, but you don't want to lose them! Click OK and press 'Delete'.

3. If you want your new brush for personal use, just skip number 2 out. Now back on the image of just your brush image (in my case, my dog), press Ctrl+A, go Edit>>Define Brush and call your brush whatever you want to call it.

4. Now you're free to use whatever you want your brush for. Another great thing about Photoshop is, that if your brush image had a white background, it'll make it transparent when you brush. You can resize your brush, choose what colour you want and get started.

If you want a set just do step 3 again and go to 'Preset Manager', Ctrl+A, 'Save Set' and call your set whatever you want. After you've done that, go to 'Preset Manager', then 'Load' and load 'All.abr' back on.

hope it can help you guys.
